12,000 homes adjacent to the National Forest are at risk from the California wildfires according to AP. The famous Mount Wilson observatory is in direct line of the advancing fire. Assuming the fire reaches the observatory, the fire would then threaten the Los Angeles area towns including the rest of Altadena, Pasadena and Sierra Madre on the south side of the fire and Acton in the north.
