In the News: Cocaine

AP is reporting that almost a third of all cocaine seized in the United States is laced with a dangerous veterinary drug known as levamisole.

Levamisole is a livestock de-worming drug that might enhance cocaine's effects and, according the AP article, it has been blamed in at least three deaths and scores of serious illnesses. Levamisole is also used in the treatment of colon cancer.
